FIGS, the premium healthcare apparel brand redefining the medical uniform industry, officially expands its retail footprint with the opening of its newest Community Hub in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. Designed as both a shopping destination and a gathering space, the new hub reflects FIGS’ continued commitment to supporting and celebrating healthcare professionals on and off the job.
Located at 1020 W. Randolph Street, the West Loop Community Hub is purposefully designed to offer an immersive, elevated experience. The space features pill-inspired chandeliers, modern-meets-medical fixtures, cozy seating areas, and interactive elements including a Color Clinic and Customization Station, allowing visitors to personalize their scrubs while connecting with fellow healthcare workers.
“This space was created to show up for Chicago’s healthcare professionals,” said Trina Spear, CEO and Co-Founder of FIGS.“Chicago has one of the most vibrant healthcare communities in the country, and we’re excited to bring a FIGS Community Hub to the heart of the West Loop, right near the Illinois Medical District. Every day, Chicago’s healthcare professionals show up with extraordinary commitment, and we created this space as a way to show up for them. It’s a place to feel supported, inspired, and appreciated. We can’t wait to welcome Chicago’s Awesome Humans into a Hub designed just for them.”
The West Loop location marks FIGS’ fifth Community Hub, joining existing hubs in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, New York City, and Houston, with additional locations planned. The Chicago site was intentionally chosen for its proximity to the Illinois Medical District, one of the city’s largest medical corridors, home to four major hospitals and thousands of healthcare workers.
To celebrate the opening, FIGS will host a Grand Opening Event on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The public is invited to explore the space, shop exclusive collections, and connect with the healthcare community. The event will feature music, giveaways, and food and beverages from local vendors, reinforcing FIGS’ emphasis on community and connection.

During the opening, local healthcare professionals gathered not only to shop, but to share their stories.
Dr. Stevie, a Chicago-based emergency veterinarian with nearly eight years of experience, reflected on her journey and her relationship with the brand.
“I knew from the time I was six years old that I wanted to be a veterinarian,” she shared. “I was that kid catching bugs and snakes. I never changed my mind.”
Now working in emergency care, Dr. Stevie sees everything from dogs and cats to reptiles—her favorite patients. “I love snakes and bearded dragons,” she said. “They’re just so cool.”
When asked why FIGS stands out, her answer was immediate. “As a vet student, FIGS was the aspiration. Scrubs were always baggy and ill-fitted, designed more for men. When I finally bought my first pair, I fell in love—the quality, the comfort, the functionality. You need something that moves with you, has extra pockets, and keeps up with the demands of the job.”
She also offered words of encouragement to future veterinarians: “Don’t get discouraged. Healthcare can be hard, and burnout is real, but if this is what you’re called to do, stick with it. It’s not always puppies and kittens, but it’s worth it.”
Nearby, Dr. Z, a newly graduated neurosurgeon now practicing in Chicago, echoed similar sentiments about the importance of community and purpose in medicine. After completing a 16-year journey through college, medical school, residency, fellowship, and training, he recently began his attending role at Lutheran General Hospital.
“Residency transforms you,” Dr. Z explained. “The person you are at the beginning isn’t the person who comes out at the end. You’re more trained, more emotionally aware, and more prepared to handle difficult situations.”
For younger students considering medicine, his advice was refreshingly honest. “Enjoy your life before medical school as much as you can. There’s no real competitive edge you can gain that early focus on preparing yourself for the rigor ahead.”
Dr. Z also shared why FIGS resonates with him beyond style. “I’ve been offered opportunities from other scrubs companies, but I chose FIGS because of their outreach. They’re directly involved in the medical community, providing care to underprivileged areas and welcoming anyone who wants to be part of the FIGS family. They don’t just talk about impact, they actually do it.”
That sense of purpose is exactly what FIGS aims to cultivate through its Community Hubs spaces, where healthcare professionals can recharge, connect, and feel recognized for the vital work they do every day.
As FIGS continues to expand, the West Loop Community Hub reflects the brand’s mission: blending thoughtful design, functional apparel, and meaningful community engagement right in the heart of Chicago.
